Doctoral Program

The objective of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Engineering (PDEBIOM), offered jointly by the Centers of Biological Engineering (CEB), Mechanical and Materials Technologies (CT2M), Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics (3B´s) and ALGORITMI, from the school of Engineering of the University of Minho, is to provide an educational environment that encourages students to develop the ability to contribute to technological adavancements  through criative and autonomous research in the field of biomedical engineering.

The scientific domain of the program is Biomedical Engineering. The PDEBIOM has the duration of 3 years/6 semesters, totaling 180 ECTS credits, according to the Curricular Structure defined for the corresponding Study Plan.

The  PDEBIOM includes a flexible curricular component with 60 ECTS credits and the elaboration of a Doctoral Thesis. The conclusion of the curricular component confers a diploma of Advanced Studies in Biomedical Engineering with a final classification obtained from the classifications of the curricular units that compose the study plan.
